The former president's Family Member Gets Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance
This young athlete maintains impressive social media presence
Kai Trump will have multiple prominent backers when she makes her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, received a special exemption to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, operates several golf courses and often matches against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we have competitive games," she stated.
Kai explained that Trump, who won't be present, counseled her: "Simply stay calm."
"He essentially told me to play and relax," she explained.
"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's busy with world affairs, so he's quite busy."
Being non-professional, Kai has competed in just three tournaments recently and has position 461 in AJGA rankings.
Yet she's able to seek guidance from golf legend, romantically involved with her mother.
"He represents the greatest golfer in the world," the young golfer said.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive human being. He advised me to play, relax, adapting to whatever happens."
The golfer will compete against some of top competitors in women's golf at the competition, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that her participation exposes the sport to new audiences, particularly with the next generation.
Kai boasts a massive following and has started an exclusive clothing and lifestyle brand.
Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
