Netflix Casts Perfect Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a adored, popular member has recently been selected.

Netflix announced Tuesday that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bentham. This character possesses the power to change into an exact copy of any individual they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a version of that figure reinterpreted as non-binary, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action series, as in the source material and cartoon version.

This performer joins several other fresh additions set to bring the group to reality, such as leader Mr. 0, played by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the lineup as the monarch of the desert kingdom.

Even though this character is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. With the next season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this represents a notable change in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.

Escola’s blend of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the character. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece series is set to return for its second season on March 10, 2026.
