Real Madrid brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold on a long-term agreement

The defender's recovery is progressing according to plan, giving hope that the Real Madrid defender could return in time to face his previous club Liverpool in the upcoming European match.

The English player suffered a hamstring strain during a match against French club Marseille in the group stage of the competition on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold exited the field in the fifth minute, with initial reports pointing to a possible absence of around six weeks.

Real Madrid will travel to visit Liverpool on 4 November for the European match—just over a month since the injury happened.

Reports familiar with the player's condition state that the player's healing process is moving along positively, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold might make his first return to Liverpool's stadium since signing for Real Madrid in the summer.

A devoted Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously said that departing from the club he entered as a young youth player was the "toughest choice he has ever taken."

During his time with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold accumulated 354 appearances, contributing to win two Premier League championships, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Since joining to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has appeared five times in all competitions, totaling 156 minutes of playing time.
