British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the boxing community shared sympathy for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
