Barça to Host Historic Match at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
